It's been years since I started my own seedlings, need a refresher course here. When I go to re-pot them to larger pots, should I bury the stems deeper, esp. tomatoes? I know when I plant them in the ground, they should be planted as deep as possible with alot of stem to produce stronger roots. Is this OK with re-potting the seedlings?
I also have eggplant and peppers, which probably don't benefit from deeper planting.
Thanks. ?:|

hi yes i repot my tomatoes deeper each time. i start out with the 6 pk. then plant them in 16 oz. pastic cups to get them as deep as poss. then into the garden . where i lay them in a trench to get as much of the stem buried as poss.
only thing to keep in mind is, make sure you have well drained soil so the stem dosn't rot, but i have never had that prob. good luck and enjoy a much bigger plant!
