Sure, I buy this stuff from Lowe's that is basicly old rotted mulch and manure mixed together with sand. They sell it as commercially made topsoil. Its alot better than that MiracleGro soil filled with chemicals.
Funny, I was having this conversation last night. "Organic" when it's on a bag of soil means something entirely different than the "certified organic" food label. When it's on a bag of soil amendment, it simply means that it's derived from rotted living matter -- leaves, manure, whatever. It does not mean that the material was not treated with pesticide or herbicide though. Only the USDA Certified Organic label guarantees that. I guess organic mulch means it was made from tree bark and not old tires.
