I am not sure I can take one more night. Him or me? Which is more socialbly acceptable? I haven't had any sleep, THAT"S why this post is here instead of OG. I don't even know where I am anymore. Oh my goodness. I am doomed!

Who is snoring? You or him? Sometimes there is an underlying medical condition that causes people to snore badly, sleep apnea being one of them.

Maybe have the person get a medical checkup.

Is it every night, or just sometimes?

How about ear plugs? Eeker

It is him and it is every night. And I can't get to sleep unless I fall alsleep before him, but what does that matter, because he snores so loud, he scares me awake. He had his andnoids (spelling?) out when he was 5, and we are antque models now. Don't know if that info helps? He seems to think it is important.

lisaan,

Hi...my daughter had her adanoids out when she was a little over 1, because of swelling and congestion, so they said, to HELP her breathe better

My ex was a horrid snorer, and appeared to have sleep apnea, where he would scare BOTH of us out of sleep!

I poked him alot, to get him to turn over or wake-up, and stop snoring, or something, ANYTHING to get him to shut-up!

He was a heavy drinker, and I think that contributed to the problem.

We divorced several years ago, but I bet he still snores like hell!

Good luck!
Vicki

I've heard of people using those strips that go across the nose... the one's atheletes use to breathe better, at night to help the snoring.

So thankful that my husband doesn't snore... sorry girls, I'm keeping him!

Forgot to add that your husband should be checked at a sleep clinic if you think he may have sleep apnea. One of my friends went into a sleep clinic, after sleeping for a while the staff woke him up, he had stopped breathing so long they were afraid he wasn't going to wake up again. Now he uses oxygen when sleeping and never has slept better. He went to the clinic in the first place because of his wife not getting any sleep from his snoring!

My husband USED TO snore so loud every night that I never got a good night's rest. After mentioning it to my dentist one day, he recommended my husband wear an athletic mouth guard (about $3.00 at Wally World) at night. I bought him one, and the only time he's snored since then is when he forgets to put it in his mouth at bedtime.

Seperate bedrooms work great! His is on one side of the house and mine is on the other. Smiler
I sleep like a baby now.

I've noticed my DH snores much worse when he is over tired or really stressing about something. His has trouble with sleep apnea, but refuses to go get checked out for it.

Have him get a good medical checkup. Sleep Apnea is a serious condition and is very unhealthy because the person the is "snoring" is being deprived of enough oxygen to get sufficient rest.

" Music to a widows ears" that's what my dear old Dad used to say,but he didn't have to listen to someone snore all night.
My Dh snored so loud it used to wake my daughter up ,and she wasn't even on the same floor as us Eeker
Now he doesn't snore any more,he lost 75 pounds. That did it.Not exactly a quick fix.
Just as well because I was sorely tempted to put the pillow over his head and hold it till he shut up,permanently.
try the sports teeth thingy,it won't hurt him and may even help both of you.Good luck with it .
i hear your pain.

2 things you might consider (although they do not work well together). Both have helped me at different times. First try an air filter. Minor allergies and hayfever can contribute to snoring. Second, try a humidifier (Sorry, I did not notice if you are in a humid area or not). Some of that medicated stuff you put in the water helps to open up breathing passages and can alleviate snoring. Finally, weight loss worked for me (I still snore - but not nearly as much as I did). I lossed 30 ppounds and am working on losing more.

My sister was a bad snorer - she had some minor surgery to remove extra tissue in her throat (or thereabout), and she hasn't snored since.

There may be a medical fix for his snoring.

lisaann,

You crack me up!
Just wanted to add that I place a small bowl of hot water with several drops of eucalyptus oil in it, in my room, and that helps me breathe easier. (I have a fan running year-round).

I have chronic sinus problems, and I also put the same thing in my kids' room, if they have a cold/congestion.

It smells like Vicks Vapor Rub, but I like the smell!
Can't hurt to try some of these here things! LOL!
