My new house has some Iris that bloomed this Fall. My mom looked it up & discovered that there are such things as "reblooming Iris" that have a second, less vibrant bloom in the Fall.
When I did an internet search on them, I could only find information from retail places, not Iris societies of universities. So, there is no information beyond the fact that they exist. So...What can you tell me about reblooming Iris? How do they handle the cold spells of the Fall? Are their blooms wimpy or hardy in the Fall? Is there Spring bloom less vigorous than the non-reblooming Iris? Kathy zone 5 -- Ohio |

Hi KathyP
I planted "Immortality" reblooming iris last spring. It did not bloom that spring, but it did bloom in October! This spring it was the first iris to bloom in my garden, very fragrant and absolutely beautiful! Spring bloom was much more abundant than fall. So far this year, no fall blooms. I really like them. Sorry, this is not technical info... Enjoy your iris, Foxglove |
