I found a stunning vine which I think is a red passion flower, or something similar. Can't wait around for seeds. How would you propagate? Michelle

All you have to do is bury one of the ripe fruits and you'll have passion flowers forever.

I didn't see any fruits. Would it root in water or in soil with a rooting hormone? Michelle

We have the kind of passion vine with edible fruit--it has a flower, too, but not quite as showy as the ornamental varieties. I have two little plants I started from cuttings. We got our plant not much more than two years ago, in a 5 gallon pot, and now it covers at least 40 feet of fence! Smiler I haven't noticed any seedlings coming up yet. --J--

You should always have a plant B.

How did you treat the cuttings? Did you root them in water, stick them in soil, or how? Thanks. Michelle

I can't remember which way I did the ones that turned out. Razzer I usually start cuttings either by putting them in water and seeing if they root (sometimes they root, sometimes they rot Wink ), or else sticking them in some potting soil. When I do that, I usually use a rooting hormone, usually just the powdered Rootone one.

I don't have a really high success rate with a lot of my cuttings (some plants are way easier to start than others) so I start lots of cuttings and usually end up with at least a couple of the plants I'm trying to start. --J--
