There are lots of half ripened blueberries on the bushes, and lots of flowers, too. My question: I know I need to put netting over them to protect the berries from birds, but if I do it now will the bees still visit the flowers? The netting is the standard plastic bird size.

I don't have a problem with poillination when the nets are on - but they have half-inch openings. Even the mason and carpenters can get through that and don't seem to be bothered by it. How big are the netting openings?

I think it's about the same, it's the standard bird netting. So should I put the netting on now?

You can put the netting on as soon as the plant leafs out. Then you won't disturb the blossoms. We get huge bluberry yields now that put the netting on. The bees have no problem pollinating. I put netting on my rasberries also. Good luck.
