I've always wanted to move to New Mexico or Arizona, and a primary interest of mine is home vegetable gardening.
Do you know of an area, a valley, a special place anywhere in New Mexico or Arizona, that is ideal for growing a wide variety of vegetables for as many months as possible, throughout the year?
Temperatures, soil, and ample water are my main points of interest.
I know that Seeds of Change is near Santa Fe, and they obviously do very well in the growing of a wide variety of vegetables.
Your advice and suggestions are deeply appreciated. In advance: Thank you!
Peace,
Highwhistler
PS: It is OK to suggest a remote area, too, as long as there is some sort of fast internet service available. I am a visionary artist, author and website designer -- that is my business and I work from home, alone.

There aren't a lot of peeps from AZ and NM here that I've noticed. My friends in Santa Fe have tough winters, and a really short season, so all I can suggest is avoid that area.

Hello Highwhistler, I grew up in Tucson, and although our soils down there are basically caleche, my parents always tended a garden from Feb to about July (that's about the time they got tired of watering everyday in the sweltering heat and having to pay $$$ for the water usage)full of toms, beautiful bell peppers, okra, zucchini and we had a couple of citrus trees that did phenomenally--can't beat fresh o.j. and lemonade. Even tho the soils aren't that great in Tucson, i'd say that you'd be well off with raised beds probably about 10 months out of the year--maybe more. I've heard you can actually grow tomato "trees" down there--like the gardeners do in Mexico.
Good luck on your move!

. Do a find on Arizona and New Mexico separately. .. It's like moving to extremes of climates.... from your "New England" .. This find will let you find the "micro climates" that will be of interest for you" through the past years. ..
