When Ruth Stout gardened nude, she did so before the weather networks delivered UV index readings with their "sunny skies, 0% chance of precipitation" forecasts. ;\

I have three seasons: GROW, *SEW*, and SEED CATALOG!

NOT a Keebler.

I dunno about weeding in the nude. Some weeds are prickly. Squatting down low to the ground and being pricked on the bum or elsewhere is NOT to be tolerated! Nope. Gimme long pants for weeding, with socks tucked in.

Gardeners who do so nude remind me of gardeners who do so wearing heels and nice pantsuits: they are NOT gardening, but just pretending to (I'm sure they have someone else who does the hard, sweaty, major work, while covered from head to toe).

Weeds. If they are ignored they make babies and reproduce a hundredfold... gotta kill em quick.

I found using a weed inhibitor way easier... that corn gluten meal is a lifesaver to inhibit things. Pull the weeds now, and apply the stuff now... it lasts a good 6 months, just keep it out of the beds. Makes weeding way easier.

And save nude sunbathing for relaxing on a towel by the pool...

Ahh weeds. We had so much rain in a month-long period in May and June that I couldn't get to 'em in my aisles--now I just weedwack. Have to be careful of the plants at the edge, but it looks kind of nice to have grassy paths between my veggies. I weed among the plants and throw those down for mulch after they dry down a little bit in the aisle.

I leased land from a guy who was constantly telling me about this one (organic) gardener whose garden was "perfect"--had not a single weed. Hooray for them. So boring to be perfect Razzer

How does 10 inch deep mulch work with shorter plants? I can see deep mulch with tomatoes or plants growing up a trelis, but what about lettuces and carrots?

Abigail, 8 kids grown, 1 blossoming and 10 grandkids- what a harvest!
