Great question. We have an iron chiminea that we use during parties, but that's about it.

We have one of those copper bowl types. Makes it easy to move it around. We use it every weekend night we can if it's not too cold or raining to hard. It's great. It's like going camping in the back yard.

DS and I are planning on using ours more so I can burn up some of this wood in the yard. I bought some charcoal to use to get it started, then I don't feel quilty at all about adding in fallen limbs into the fire!

We have one of those recreational fire pits, and it has its own little patio that I built Big Grin Technically, I'm in Depew, but in Cheektowaga, you can't have a fire pit, unless you are using it for cooking purposes. Everyone has one, so we don't bother with it :P

Anyways. It is Memorial Day Weekend.. And it is rather warm outside. I think I might use it tonight Smiler

Thanks guys!!

Organic in NY - does your copper bowl have a nice patina to it???

Do you guys think it's important to have a screen cover?

How about a solid cover?

Went to Target yesterday to get the one I've been looking at for a couple months. Really like it, plus I have a gift card that will nearly cover it.

They were OUT! Mad

oooh. Just saw one in the target flyer today. It was on sale for $99 and had a tiled look. Is that the one you've been eyeing?

I don't know if I should get one that looks good but is probably a piece of crap, or one that's like 3 times more price-wise, but is cast iron and copper.

My fire pit is just a spot out back away from trees and buildings where I toss tree trimmings and once a year, in the spring, I burn it, with a burn permit.

The rest of the year when the family gathers,
we sometimes have a bonfire and roast weiners, do dutch ovens, make smores, or roast marshmallows, and just sit around and tell stories.

This is quite enjoyable, and legal here. I never burn if there is severe fire danger though.

Plant a little seed...........

Well, we use it so much it's pretty dirty. It's not really a nice looking thing any more. I'm not even sure it's real copper. Maybe I'll post pic. We never use the screen because the fires I make are too big.
