They were an older couple. She, Canadian and he from England. They lived and broadcast there show from a town in upstate N.Y. right on the Canadian border.

I enjoyed them so much because they were real. No scripts, just honest garden talk. And practical! I also admired them because they weren't exactly spring chickens but they both took care of their own gardens (quite extensive ornamental and edibles, too) w/only one intern helping them a season.

Anyone remember them and or remember their last names and their show?

Thanks, josette. I'm glad to read that someone else watched them and enjoyed them as much as I did. I'm sorry to hear about Larry. He was a bit of a 'stuffed shirt', but lovable, and very knowledgeable.

I remember they had a daughter who also had a tv show. She was a professional ballerina and did an exercise show which consisted of stretching muscles using ballet postures and positions. I watched her show for quite awhile. Even taped it (when VHS was in) and followed her exercises. Almost as good as yoga.

Thanks for the information and reminding me of the name of their show. Smiler

Sure do remember them. Watched them in the late 80's. Would be nice to have a show like that again, real down to earth gardening, unlike the current Victory Garden.

I'm totally w/you leafspot on the Victory Garden programs. Especially of late. The previous few seasons were bad enough (after Roger Swain left). But this season is in a word: Bleech!

Have you ever watched "Manic Organic"? Another crazy Canuck. Wink (No offense to my dear Canadian friends and ancestors.) He's a little wacky, but as you said - down to earth gardening and practical advice.

I remember that show. I loved that show but my "ex" didn't. She was a master gardener and thought the organic way was just to "silly". Well, I still garden organically and like I said, she is my "ex".

Is "Manic Organic"local or a network program?

Major- I am also a Master Garden as well as a Master Organic Gardener. The two overlap quite a bit now as the University is even putting out a lot of info on organics. At least we can now mention organics which was not the case 10 years ago.
