For those of you who wanted to know how the reiter thyme plugs-all 256 of them- are going.....I received the tiny plugs (3/4 inchers) in early march, transplanted them into 5 oz plastic cups and kept them in a south facing window. They doubled in size, at least, and I began to harden them off in late march into early April. Last weekend I planted them in the front yard where I am xeriscaping the entire front landscape. They only require 1-2 waterings a week for the first 2-3 weeks, then water every 7-10 days after that. They are thriving and I can hardly wait to see my lavendar flowering "lawn" when July rolls around!
Kudos to you and thanks for the feedback! You should be proud! Remind me again where you bought the Reiter Thyme? Mountain Valley growers in California? or that place in Canada, Richters?

For some reason, my message didn't post, so please forgive if this message comes up twice.
Yes, Franelli, I did get the plugs from Mountain Valley Growers, out of California. This was the first time I ordered from them and I was slightly dissapointed with the quality. About 35-40 plugs were tiny twigs of a start, though there was some green growth showing. The rest were thriving, with runners reaching out in all directions. Of those 35-40 about 20 ended up in Reiter Thyme Heaven. We'll see how the other tiny ones fare now that they are in the ground.
