Planted a 6 pack of tiny Celebrity tomatoes Sunday, and they've already doubled in size.

Last year I grew 'Longkeeper' tomatoes. You pick them green, wrap in newspaper and keep in a cool basement, where they slowly ripen. Our supply ran out in mid-February. I'll be putting in more plants this year.
My tomato seedlings are two inches high and it's snowing outside. I don't think I like reading your posts anymore either. |

I started:
Arumumgam's Tomato Asemina Greek * Aunt Gerties Gold * Black Sea Mans Brandywine Cherokee Chocolate Cherokee Purple Cows Tit Ferris Wheel Gilbertie Julia Child Long Keeper * Monkey Ass Olena's Ukrainian Oregon Spring Paul Roberson Preacher Stupice Tibet Appel Tigerella Cross White Beauty Last Thursday. Only the ones with asterisk's (*) are still pending showing germinated seed. |

I SOOOOO hear you. In my world, snow in December is lovely. Snow in March is evil.
I'm suffering from tomato-withdrawl since I refuse to buy the grocery store tasteless varieties. Our own supply ran out in December. Maybe I'll have to try those "Longkeepers". Loamlump, do they still have flavour in February? "... one is nearer God's heart in a garden than any place else on earth." |

My 'ripening' tomatoes ran out in early January. Where can I find the seed for the Longkeepers.

LOL - Never heard of this one before. We still have snow on the ground and I'm so far behind this year that I think I'll just focus on greens and other fast growing crops. Tomatoes from the Farmers' Market will do fine this season. *sniff* |

I planted my peas today. I also planted carrots, radishes, collards, chard, spinach, beetberry, mustard, and roquette. Hubby is giving me crap because he says its too early for such things. I say phoey on him. They're in the ground now!
Elfie: I hear you lound and clear! Two days ago I had still had 3 inches of snow on the ground. Thankfully it warmed up enough to melt the snow so I could plant today. WandaK, to you I say "harumph!" (wink wink) Give three fold what you take. |

Thursday I planted eggplant, sweet peppers, sweet basil, dill, and beans. And red salvia and marigolds. Tomorrow: cucumbers, summer and winter squash and that will be it! The tomatoes have tripled in size.
The wisteria is the best it's ever been, just amazing. So many bees they sound like little airplanes. We've started eating lunch and snacks in the back yard unde the wisteria covered arbor. |
