Hi, I'm new to this page and was interested in making compost tea. Would like to to try the "sweet" kind for my garden. Any hints/recipe would be helpful. Thanks Golden
There are simple as well as fancy compost tea recipes. Some teas are designed mainly to fertilize plants.
Others are designed to add beneficial microbes to produce healthy plants and soil.
Others are designed to build a plant's immune system, and resist pests and diseases.
The simplest recipe to produce a good microbial tea is compost, water, and a little molasses or some other sugar or syrup in a 5 gallon bucket.
Aerated teas are best for maximizing the good aerobic microbes in a tea in 1-3 days. Non-aerated teas have some aerobic microbes in it, but not near as much as the aerated kind.
