I saw a variety called "Luna" that match this discription. I saw it in I believe Guernsey's seed catalogue. Then I happened to be in a Kmart and saw the same variety under the "Martha Stewart" brand name. If you can bear going to Kmart to buy seeds there you go. :^O If not do a search under Luna, I am sure you can find them. I was surprised to see several hierloom varieties in Martha's collection.
I don't know about white pumpkins. Can you eat them like the orange? I already have my orange pupkins growing in my window sill :^O :x

grief - I sent a whackload of 'Lumina' white-skinned pumpkins to WandaK two weeks ago. She's in California, and a SASE is all it'll dock you. If you cannot find her on a member list, click on mine, send me an e-mail, and I'll pass along hers.
Lumina is a hybrid, while there is a white heirloom out there. White skinned pumpkins can be used any way you use an orange skinned one. They are marketed as a no-carve Jack O'Lantern, but they make good pies.
We ended up with 2 volunteer pumpkin vines last year, one vine produced very small white pumpkins, the other produced pumpkins that were kind of striped with dark and light orange. It was really rather odd, since we hadn't bought or composted any white pumpkins ever. I saved the seed and will try to grow some pumpkins on purpose this year.
