Has anyone made any good yard sale finds recently? Today on my way home from work I found a 16 jar spicerack at a yardsale just closing up. It's got glass 4oz jars and sits up at about 16 inches, some spices havn't been used. Paid 2$.
good gardening, good luck, DD

Sounds great, but if I were you, I'd probably ditch the herbs that are still in the jars. More than likely they're way way way past their prime. Better to set your great find up with fresh stuff.

You got yourself some wonderful seed saving jars. I use old spice racks and jars in the basement to store and organize my seeds. The seeds keep very well that way.
Is there any thing else at flea markets & yard sales? LOL. Most of my hand tools come from these. Great shovels, rakes, digging forks as well as a great fan I use for my green house. Items for my "madness" are my first concern at these favorite past times. we are only limited by our imagination..LOL.

The big-box stores sell these poor (mostly dead) poorly rooted cuttings with gravel hot-glued on and calls 'em bonsai.
They come without directions and are often taken into dark rooms and placed on top of the living room TV, where any remaining life is baked out of them.
Afer a month or three the dead tree is discarded and the pot is consigned to the trash or yard sale.
I buys the pots for a quarter or a dollar and put a real tree in it for my collection.
I find 6 to 25 per year. Thank you Home Despot, Waldo Werld. You been berry berry good to me.
