My asparagus ferns which are now fairly tall are beginning to fall over from where it comes out of the ground. Some of them have turned brown and I can easily yank them out because they have broken just below ground level. Maybe they've been chewed, but it's hard to tell because the break is not a fresh break. Anyone else have this problem?

Its possible it could be feild-mice or voles. IMO sometimes they just break or rot off of due to wind or this year our monsoonal flooding.

Ark anyone?

The only ones doing that here are brown and all done growing. They served their purpose and are dead.


Muddy knees David! Compost is my friend. Every day I enroll in gardening school. Some days it feels like kindergarten!
