As of 30 minutes ago, I landed the job at Oakland Nursery that I've been barking up their tree about for the past 6 months. It's a b*itchin' nursery, mentioned in the June (i think) issue of Organic Gardening, just under a mile down the road from me (big bonus).
They're willing to work around the 25 hour a week temp job that I have through October 2nd, but it will mean I'll be working literally every single day for the next month. Worth it, to secure it.
Congratulations! I think that the more organic knowledge gardening suppliers get, such the better. Are they organic or are they a hybrid nursery? It's hard to find solid-chemical ones, thank goodness.

needmorespace - (great name, by the way) - they definitely are not organic, or at least exclusively - they sell everything. Luckily, I'll be doing outside nursery work - starting in the perennials.
lisaann - the mention is small - in the section they've been doing on "great gardening cities". They did Columbus, OH in that issue, and Oakland gets a mention as being a "dangerous" place for a gardener to visit. lol.
Hurray. Happy to hear your good news. Keep us posted on what you're doing and what you're learning. I'm retired, but I wouldn't mind putting in a few hours a week at a nursery. I will if I find the opportunity. In the meantime, I am elated for you.
