I pulled this from SANET, a list all about sustainable agriculture and often the science behind it. Many of the foremost expert in the world belong to this list and are active on it. This conversation about compost tea and the NOP has been especially interesting. Just hit the link below to read all about it.
Maybe you're a home gardener and don't follow the sustainable agriculture discussion, but you might still be interested in some recent discussion threads underway on the SANET mailgroup. The talk has been about the safety of compost tea, the relative danger of E. coli, the US Dept. of Agriculture's Natl. Organic Program standards, and methods of analyzing the microbial power of brewed compost tea. Dr. Elaine Ingham, ATTRA's Steve Diver, Joel Reiten, and your friend Joel Gruver are among the active thoughtful contributors. If you want to listen in without joining the list you can pick through the threads at the archive site -- http://lists.sare.org/archives/sanet-mg.html Look in late October and recent November postings. |
