I'm with you Playtime,

I hate suburbia too. But I'm only reminded of that when I hear stories like yours. I escaped more than half my life ago.

Hope you find a good local supplier. Are there garden centers in your area?

I also live in suburbia - on the outskirts of DC. Maybe check to see if the store is expanding and maybe moved to a bigger location? Here in our parts, it's getting pretty darn trendy to be organic and little shops are often times expanding to bigger shops!

Follow Johnnie back to the land. Have your own little green acres. Peace and tranquility at any cost!

I need to take my own advice! I live about 30 miles from Hadley, Ma. Some of our country's premier growing land. Thousands of acres of a fertile land lake bed, formed in the ice age.Not a rock to be found! Now being Malled and Malled and Malled to Damn death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check first, for the agway in the white pages of the phone book. As big as they are, I doubt they closed. If they did, check for the greenhouses to see if any of them advertise as organic. Best of luck on the hunt. Let us know how it goes.

Even Ham Radio operators love organic food. Especially here in SW lower MI.
