I hope everyone is well. If any of you have the opportunity please sign the petition on the corresponding site. A NY company is soliciting (preying is a better word) Brunswick County, NC (low income neighboring county) to put a four story auto fluff dump up in the Cape Fear river watershed. If there is anyone unfamiliar with auto fluff it is basically ground up car waste.
Did you know over 90% of cars are recyclable if taken apart piece by piece, but over 90% is not recyclable if processed in this way. It also spontaneously combusts!
It is sad enough that this situation is derived from laziness, but it is even worse that tax breaks and incentives are driving its development in an environmentally sensitive area. You can sign the petition anonomously if you wish, but have no doubt it helps us in our fight against unecessary pollution. Thanks!
I just signed the petition. I truly hope it helps. It's about time that all these different companies find other ways to handle their business. I didn't know THAT much of a vehicle was recyclable. I had planned on scrapping my van as soon as I can replace it, but maybe a pick-your-part place might be better. I'll have to give that some more thought before I decide.
