Be envious, summer awaits, the sunflower seeds anticipate a new awakening. The garden is prepped. Next weekend corn seed will enter the earth. Cabbage, onion, garlic, spinach, lettuce and radish is already present. Soon after tomatoes, peppers, butterbeans, greenbeans, and peanuts will follow. The new Martin House watches over the garden and pasture. Hopefully, it will attract juveniles looking for a new nesting site. All will be as it should, another glorious summer.

We just had a light freeze and some rain, so I'm delayed for a few days. As soon as the temp goes up I'm going to start hardening the seedlings off and then renting a big tiller to break up the new garden! I've got a Mantis, but its really not good for that first turn. Once the ground has been turned, the Mantis can handle it from then on. Course I'm probably going to cover it with cardboard and leaves this fall. No-till sounds good to me! Leave the Mantis for digging holes. :^O

We had a gorgeous Friday, when I worked, then RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, for the weekend and it's sunny and clear again for the workweek. :_| :_| not fair, not fair. Creeks and the river are flooded out of their banks. Some of the roads near them are closed. alotta powerful water. Glad my house sits up high.

During the evenings this week I'm going to squeeze in some planting though!

I am very envious.

Removed two stumps from the new area of the garden today. Had the oldest use the tiller to break ground in the new addition. Tomorrow, tomatoes and peppers, with corn seed go in the ground. Yaaahhh!!!
