Hi all!
Someone gave me a cutting. I have it in water. Then I got to wondering if I might have better luck, dipping it in root hormone and putting it directly in soil?

Also, if it is better to keep in water til it roots, if there is any way to encourage it, such as perhaps a drop of plant food in the water?

Also, any idea how long takes?

thanks,
ellen

Hi Ellen,
Since it is a bean, It will probably do best grown from seed. Wait until your friends plant is loaded with bean pods and ask her to save some of the dry pods for you.
Hey, maybe rooting will work.
Did your friend buy a purchased plant or did she grow it from seed?
I have plenty of seed if you want some for an SASE! It will grow and bloom all summer! I save seed every year and always get lots of requests for it.
