My 11 year old is Wicken. She has always been the most organicly spiritual person that I know. I gave up valuable vege garden space for her alter site. Now my garden has prayers along with the compost to keep it healthy.
My garden is not all mine. I share it with my family, my critters, my friends and my students. I work (that is play in) the garden at my home and turn around and work (play in) the garden at the school. To me gardening must be a communal, inspirational, knowledge swap, or else I suppose it would be just drudgery.
