My favorite garlic supplier, Cayuga Garlic, was already sold out of Italian Purple Hardneck three weeks into August.

Does anyone know where I can get some good quality Italian Purple Hardneck?

Not sure if this helps, but, Gardenz posted a supplier in NJ not long ago( not sure if he carries the type you want):

Thanks Franeli! I'll check it out.

I've been thinking of maybe going to the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival just for kicks. But that woould be one more weekend away from the garden during harvest.

We've been having a great season for cabbages, tomatoes, potatoes, beets, peppers, carrots, dill and basil. The spring planting of peas and beans (remember - April 15?) did exceptionally well.

How has your season been?

I've not been on the forums all summer - too busy picking and putting by on weeks when we're home.

Hi, JohnnieAppleseed,

If you check that link franeli supplied, you'll see that, unfortunately, the supplier I use, Roman Osadca at Valley Fall Farms in New Jersey, doesn't have any Italians.Frowner I'll be placing my order w/him (mostly for the Music Czechs and German Extra Hardy) in about a month.

Funny you posted about the Garlic Festival in Saugerties, I posted (I think) the exact same link in that thread, too! Big Grin I wish I could go,too. But it's just too far for me to travel. BTW: I'm sure my "guy" has a display booth there each year. Him...along with hundreds of other garlic-o-philes! Wink
