how can i tell the difference between young cukes and pumpkin? i planted cukes and a lot of pumpkins came up
in the same area from a pumpkin i threw there last year.

I've had that problem before--you may have to wait till they start producing fruit unless you have some that you KNOW are one or the other--
that's part of the fun of gardening for me--what on earth will come up this year? (I have zinnias among the bush beans this year!)
