Since you've all been so patient and helpful with my many tomato woes, thought I'd take a few minutes to share what's going well (which is nearly everything else):

Radishes are actually forming bulbs, for the first time for me. Hurray!

Lettuce is maturing.

Purple beauty peppers are in pots on the patio, and growing well without problems. Can I mound dirt up around the stems to encourage adventitious roots? Does this work for peppers?

Marshmallow is in fine form, putting out new leaves like crazy, loving the low-lying "marsh" at the bottom of the property.

Direct-seeded cilantro and parsley are coming along great--small, but no problems so far.

Walking onions (thanks chuubacka) are growing like crazy--can't wait to see them "walk" in a few years.

Raspberries, blackberries, elderberries all leafing like crazy.

Fig tree getting ready to put out leaves.

Corn and scarlet runner beans and squash all in fine form now. Recovering without complaint from a bout with rot, or something...

Walking stick kale still in pots but awaiting soil preparation. Should I plant them deeply? Will they form adventitious roots if I do so? They're kinda leggy...

Carrots have leaves, but no idea whether they'll produce edible roots.

Mints of various sorts going gangbusters, of course (I have an entire, small, mostly shady bed devoted entirely to mints--figured if everything in there is invasive, none of it will get too out of control--and for several feet around that bed, nothing but grass that gets mowed somewhat regularly).

Strawberries producing flowers and large green berries that should ripen very soon.

Honeysuckle that I thought was dead has come back with a vengeance.

Amaryllis coming up beautifully.

Peonies getting ready to bloom--awesome.

Lemon balm, lemon thyme, oregano, and lemon oregano all doing just fine (some were sent to me through a "swap," others I "rescued" from the 50 cent rack at Lowe's).

Gosh, when I add it all up, seems like there's not much to complain about. Let the one-year-old tear stuff up--there's always more! LOL

Thanks for listening,

Heather

You go girl! I thot I was trying a lot of new things this year, but you've got me beat by a mile! Big Grin Mom dropped by today and asked 'where'd all the onions come from?' I told her 'they just keep on walking and I just let them go'. As of yet I have no sign of freehiker's basil, my lettuce (rocky mtn. mix) or my radishes, but I just keep cheering them on.
