my garden is nearly in and was looking for words of advice. I currently grow bantam corn and heart of gold cantaloupe and new England pie pumpkins. does anyone have a variety they think is better? looking for all suggestions.

Try Muskmelon (cantaloupe) "Fastbreak".
It's a hybrid, but tastes really good and matures in 65 days.

And if you grow green beans, go for "Contender".

I enjoy country gentleman white corn. I got the seds from Bakers creek heirlooms catalogue.
