It's early May, and the jacarandas are starting to bloom. Don't know why, they must have a built in clock. I post about this every year, it's so beautiful. There are hundreds of them all over the city, clouds of lavender blossoms, some just starting, a mist of purple, and some in full bloom. There are several streets that have jacarandas as their street trees, and the effect is incredible.
Also in bloom all over the city: oleander, in pink, magenta, white, salmon bougainvillia, in magenta, cream, soft orange, red, hibiscus, and of course the roses.
