Just wondering how many catalogs others have received so far. I've received eight only three of which I have either previously ordered from or requested.

All of those, plus Burpee & Seeds of Change. I love them all, but buy very little as my garden space is severely limited and my pocketbook is a little tight, too. But I can drool, can't I? :^O

I think I'm somewhere around an even dozen. Just today I got Seeds of Change which I've never gotten before. What a great catalog.

With a very limited budget I can only afford to order from one catalog (who can afford the shipping ordering from a bunch of different ones!?) but I do love to look.

I just received my first Seeds of Change catalog too. I figure if I start putting a little cash away now, by spring I should be able to order a few things from there. I know their seed is organic, but does anyone know if the seed they sell is hybrid seed or open pollinated seed (I think that's the right term)? I like to save my seeds from year to year, but with the hybrid seeds you can't do that.

I have never before given 2 hoots about the seed and garden catalogs, but for some reason it's different this year. I have spent way too much time already looking at all the great things in there. And just when I thought I couldn't be tempted.... Wink

The only catalogs that I've gotten so far are Park's and Jung. Already have orders prepared for BOTH. Still hoping for some more catalogs, as neither one has cumin listed, and I'm still wanting to order some.

Gotten all of the above-mentioned with the addition of Stokes, Jackson & Perkins, Thompson & Morgan, Harris and Van Burgundien Bulbs, Wayside and Bluestone Perennials. Along with various and sundry onion and garlic catalogs. Since Johnny's doesn't mail out till the end of December, I'm expecting it probably in a week or so.

BTW: Anyone else who gets the Parks catalog...have you noticed how much smaller it is this year?

I AM NOT READY FOR THIS YET!!!!! :_|

Have only received Seeds of Change Catalogue and read it cover to cover immediately. Was glad to see it as I was tired of gardening after first season organic. Coupled with remodeling and moving I bit off a lot at once and gardening felt like work versus calming. It ( the catalogue) brought my spirit of gardening back and the dreams of next years grand affair Big Grin

I've gotten four so far, two of which are my favorites. I'm still reading!!! Told hubby last night I needed a bigger garden. He just sighed and shook his head.

Just got Seeds of Change and Harris catalogs yesterday. Seeds of change are all organic, Open-Pollinated/heirloom varieties. Some really nice garden tools, too. I was drooling while looking at the catalog!

Just had a thought :O Catalog companies prepare their lists w-a-y in advance. If you just ordered these catalogs this year, they may be slow to come to you. But, I'll bet that they arrive, and probably a dozen or more of others. I just finished calling to get off some catalog mailing lists, and was told that I may get as many as 2 more catalogs because they had already prepared them to mail. Seems like a strange way to do business, but what do I know? Smiler

It also seems (to me anyway) that selling the names of good customers to other seed companies would be counterproductive.

Most of us started ordering from one seed company. The next year 5 catalogs came in the mail, the next year it was 12 catalogs, and so on. Our names got sold to lots of companies along the way.

In more than one case, someone I bought from years ago sold my name to a company I was unaware of. Within two years I had switched all my business to the new company. Why someone would risk loosing $50 - $100 or more in business per year just so they could get 3 cents per name by selling their customer list to a competitor has always mystified me!
