I saw some nice apple and pear espaliered trees at the coop. They were $70 each. Is that a fair price?

They were about 4 1/2 to 5 feet tall with mixed apples or pears on them.

Have photos if someone want to see / post them.

Depends on whether they are espaliered in the way you want them. I am training mine to work around some peculiarities in the planting location.

I would call around and look online. The only trees I've spent that kind of money on were fairly mature and unusual at that.

Are you looking for a grafted 2-in-1 tree, or is it just the espalier style you like? It's pretty simple to espalier a young fruit tree.

but it takes time and knowledge to start out a good espalier.....keeping a well started one going is easier than starting with a little whip of a tree.

I think (if it is well done, healthy, and the shape you want, and a good size) then it is probably a very fair price.
