Hi all I am a new member and I am enjoying this site very much. I did not see an intro area so I figured this would be OK.
I have been gardening and farming my little piece of land for 13 years now. Always enjoy learning new things and helping others.

Hi, and welcome. There is no intro area, you just jump in and start as you did. I've been a member of this forum for many years and a gardener for around 60 now and an Organic Gardener since the 1960's after having read Sir Albert Howards and J. I. Rodales books and then finding and reading more books by such luminaries as Friend Sykes and Lady Eve Balfour and numerous others.

The sign of a good gardener is not a green thumb, it is brown knees.

Welcome Steffb--jump in when you can--we always enjoy a new viewpoint.

Steffb,

Welcome! Your farm sounds fantastic! Can you make butter with goat's milk? We are thinking about getting a few goats.

I used to vacation in the Catskills when I lived in NY...always loved Rt 28 in the fall; not so much in dead of winter!

Peace

In order to make butter, you need to have cream. There should be cream on goats milk, but I am pretty sure that some breeds will give more cream than others. The amount of cream will also depend on the feed given to the animal.

As to our new member, welcome. I have only been on for a bit more than a year, but have learned to branch way out with new things. I have truly enjoyed this site, and hope you will too.
