Black Ants have made themselves at home in my husband's potted bamboo. Lots of them! Now, they've started to scout my potted herbs. What's the best way to get rid of them?

Thanks!
Betsy

Don't know whether this will help or not or even if it can be considered organic, but we had an ant hillspring up on the edge of our yard. You've never seen anything grow so fast! We sprinkled ground cinnamon over it, generously. It did the trick, the ants moved on.

Equal part baking soda and powdered sugar will kill ants.So will pureed, strained citrus peels.Concentrated mint tea mixed with Safer's instead of water will repell newcomers.Source of this wonderfull knowledge and so much more is the book Slug bread and Beheaded Thistles by Ellen Sandbeck.10.95$or 16.95$CDN. Would have paid more,as it really is just so excellent. There are about 8 other methods she discribes should those not work.
