Hello, I'm new to the og message boards. i moved to atlanta 8 months ago, North Sandy Springs to be exact, and was very suprised that the idea of a southern gardener is a myth in my area. am i wrong? is anyone out there who pulls their own weeds or digs their own holes? Has more than Grass on their front lawn? I'd love to meet a local gardener...

I live in the greater Birmingham area, and I have a 3 acre farm. I have a no-till garden or borderless raised beds. I don't weed or till my garden at all. I only smother it with lots of compost and mulches! (LOL) I also make and sell compost to local gardeners and farmers.

Well it is nice to meet some other gardeners! I have joined the botanical gardens, and love visiting every month or so to see the changes. what do volunteers do there? also, do you have to volunteer every week? or can it be a little less frequently, I have a 2 yo boy to find child care for, but i would love to help out in the future.
