Well, I tilled my soil and added compost to my garden to get ready this spring. Thought I'd try a section with layers of newspaper, compost, and straw. WOW! What a difference! I checked the soil- it is already cooler, and so with a much better texture and color than before. So, now go ahead. Come on don't be polite. Just tell me ya told me so. Toadherder

I love to hear stories of real experiences with different methods under the same conditions. I've always done the lasagna/sheet mulch method, and so while I love the method (I'm lazy), I've never had anything to compare it to.
Great to hear that it worked so wonderfully for you.
