I've decided to grow in containers because there are waaaay too many invasive critters in my soil, and the expense in getting rid of them is prohibitive, just because of the diversity of population. Which is why I've also chosen to use Miracle Grow Garden soil in the containers.

I planted Manalucie Tomato starts in 19 gallon tubs. They have verticulum wilt. Manalucie is not rated for V, but I thought since this was "bagged, professional soil" I would be safe.

Nope. Evidently Miracle Grow Garden Soil contains the Verticulum virus or bacteria.

Now a question- Are heirloom tomato seeds rated for VF etc?

Also, is there anyway of getting rid of veticulum in the soil-black plastic, drying it out?

Why are you paying a lot of money to buy Miracle Gro soil when there is perfectly good potting soil available for 1/3 the price?
