Just a suggestion here, send for the Gilbert H Wild catalog. It's a daylily lovers dream! I was really pleased with the daylilies I got from them last year. There is a huge variety of colors, sizes, prices.
Actually I believe they are somewhere in MO, maybe you've already heard of them. As for a favorite daylily- who can pick just one? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bloom where you are planted. tulips 4 buddy at yahoo dot com |

Daylilys are wonderful, aren't they? I started with the common orange ones, and added the Stella D'oro. I also have a tall, mid-season golden yellow with large flowers that I got from White Flower but they don't feature it anymore. It's called "Evergold." It doesn't rebloom but does have a long bloom time.
I also have: "Patricia Fay," a rosy color, medium height, mid season bloomer "Chorus Line," a real winner. Pink fading to yellow centers, medium to low height, blooms through the daylily season. Last fall I added "Joan Senior." A white flower with green throat. Can't wait to see it. I could fill my yard with daylilies but unfortunately they are DEER FOOD! Paradise Garden.com has a big selection but I think they are rather pricey. Kate |

I have stella d'oro 'Happy Returns' my favorite yellow color
and something I got years ago called 'Suzy Wong' , this is the exact same yellow as the Happy returns only a bigger plant. It blooms for me mid-july with the shastas. I also have 'Catherine Woodbury',something I bought for cheap through Fedco many years ago. I used to have 'autumn red' and 'Hyperion'(nice yellow, fragrant old timer) but I left those behind when I moved this past fall. "Maybe one of the secrets of survival is to learn where to dance." Someday, I intend to have a whole hedgerow of daylilies along my property line, starting with short ones near the street and going back to the tallest that I can find. I'm starting in the middle with the mid sized because right now that's where I can reach with the water. When I get a longer hose, I'll move out toward the street and the alley.
Now if only I could decide on a color scheme. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bloom where you are planted. tulips 4 buddy at yahoo dot com |
